Introduction
GSM network is widespread. VoIP promises to be the future of communication technology and offers significant cost benefit. The benefits are many and much compelling. But investing hugely on building an infrastructure to support GSM and IP calls may not make practical sense for smaller organizations. An organization with POTS backbone can access the GSM and IP network via a VoIP-GSM-FXS ATA, offering integrated interfaces for each of these networks.
The VoIP-GSM-FXS ATA offers integrated Ethernet, GSM and FXS ports. The ethernet port connects to the IP network. On the GSM side, the ATA supports Quad-Band operation allowing it to work with any GSM network. On the POTS side, the FXS port can be connected to any existing PBX CO port or directly to the analog telephone instrument. Using a single telephone instrument, a user can now place calls to both GSM and IP network effortlessly.
